Feelings

Happy Wednesday!

As the Snowdrops quickly grow, we have been talking more and more about our feelings. Thai helps the children begin to identify feelings and correlate them to their bodies and emotions. For example, when a child is fussing because they are tired, I often verbally talk to them about the way their body feels. "You are rubbing your eyes. Are you tired? Sometimes our bodies get tired during the day from all the fun we have. This is why it's good to take a nap." "Let's take a nap. This will help your body recharge and help you feel better." Simply verbalizing feelings can help children understand their own emotions and help them learn how to regulate them better as they grow older. Don't be afraid to talk to your children. :-) We also had a lot of fun with balls today!
