Early Literacy

Reading books is always a great activity for young children. In the Cherry Blossoms, it can be a social time as well, with the children ‘reading’ to each other, or just enjoying some one-on-one time with a teacher. One way I’ve found to keep their interest is by utilizing the local public library, bringing in a variety of ‘teacher’ books, as well as board books for the children to explore on their own. My recent check out included the board books they read yesterday, a series illustrated with various artists’ work. Check out Luka, very interested in the book about Matisse!
