Train Tracks

To finish up our exploration of trains, we took a walk to Kettle Pond to examine some train tracks.

The kids were taken and closely supervised in small groups on the train tracks. We let them touch the tracks and talked about how the tracks help the train drive/ it's the trains road.

We talked about what sounds a train makes to signal it is near. Additionally, we talked about safety- that we were exploring the tracks with teachers to see how they are built and work but we don't play on tracks just like we don't play in the street.

We then came back to school and did a pre-writing activity, promoting the Lilies to write a story about their experience on the walk and with the train tracks!
